Nov 06	Another Locomotive Sanding System contract follows October's success. After 18 months of work an order was placed for the system which will be installed in QLD.
Nov 06	Contract won for bagging fertilizers from 10 litres to 80 litres at rates up to 60,000 litres per hour. Utilising the B&C Form fill and Seal (FFS) MACHINE WITH OKURA ROBOT PALLETISER. The small footprint of 10 x 6 meters fits into existing 12m wide packing shed. Turnkey System including 240/415v power converter. This is Kockums 14 th high speed BIGBAG B&C FFS machine in only 3 yrs.
Oct 06	Follow up Pneumatic Conveying Vessel (PCV) for fly ash art 60 Te/hr fast tracked for client as identical design for recent cement system. Again, featuring the Clyde Dome valves. The cement industry is re discovering these excellent high specification wear resistant full bore valves.
Oct 06	Kockums “TRACK HISTORY” see's a contract awarded to supply a locomotive sanding system into a NSW rail service facility. Our low velocity Dense Phase Pneumatic Conveying System will provide a simple but reliable sand delivery system for refilling locomotive sanding boxes at 100kg/min.
Sept 06	A busy September for Vacuum Lifting equipments with contracts awarded for both VacuEasyLift's and VacuCobra's. A number of Turnkey systems to be supplied for handling cartons, sacks, boards and drums, with varying support structures from gantry's to columns with swing arms.
Sept 06	Kockums Bulk Systems and Brunnings Garden Products joint application has been short listed by the Australian Bulk Handling Review for the “Bulk Handling Facility of the Year Award”. On this occasion we made it to the last three, the system continues to work flawlessly.
Aug 06	A major Australian cement manufacturer has taken delivery of a 60 Te/hr dense phase conveying system, again featuring the CLYDE Dome valves and KBS Bulkair Wing compressor. Who wants to use air dryers, when there is usually no necessity with a Wing compressor.
Aug 06	Conveying up to 7 different materials in a common conveying system, some of which are very abrasive like feldspar. , KBS is about to commission a dense phase system featuring full ceramic lined pipeline components. Being called upon by an international specialist supplier of handling equipment in the glass making industry to supply this system required close cooperation and communication skills. A difficult installation was made successful by close attention to detail by our drawing office.
Aug 06	More cement systems for NZ. Several dense phase vessels Called upon by an international specialist supplier of handling equipment in the glass making industry for NZ featuring the CLYDE Dome valve for superior performance have been delivered. Interfacing with Bulk Bag Unloaders and bulk silos these conveying systems utilize the Kockums Bulk Air Wing compressor.
Jul 06	As a result of successful onsite testing, an order was placed for a container discharging and conveying system for handling Char. Further downstream of the conveying system a paddle mixer was supplied. The abrasive nature of this product meant that replacable wear plates were required.
Jun 06	Titanium Dioxide can be one of the hardest products to handle. Past experience and references were the key to an order being awarded. The system comprises a Sack tipping station, conveying system, bulk bag discharger and twin Autoflex metering system for a plastics manuafacturer.
Jun 06	Bottle caps. Yet another long distance vacuum conveying system for transferring plastic bottle caps (enclosures) has been commissioned. This is the fourth in a series for one particular client.
Mar 06	Adding to Kockums past success's in the Potting Mix Industry, an order has been won for TWO Palletisers feeding and common Stretch Hooding Machine. The high level paletisers manipulate and squeeze the bags ensuring they are accuratley placed within the confines of the pallet. The hooding machine provides a waterproof cover, holding the pallet stack securley and offering quality product presentation.
Mar 06	KBS announces first dense phase vessels for the European market. Requiring conformance to the Pressure Equipment Directive of the EC, the equipment has undergone a full examination for conformance and will qualify for the CE mark.
Feb 06	Another Microveyor has been sold to a grain processor for conveying corn granules at low velocity. Requiring low dust generation and product attrition, but still at mimium investment levels the Microveyor has proven fully adaptable in mimicking its big brother dense phase vessels.
Feb 06	Two systems previously supplied to a Beverage Company for handling bottle caps have resulted in an order for a 3rd larger system. The new system requires 100,000 caps/hr to be conveyed over 170m from a bulk storage facility to the capping line. Full scale testing and development allowed Kockums to simulate the system, and meet the customer's through-put requirements without product damage.
Feb 06	A 3rd VacuEasylift was supplied to an existing long term customer in the Rubber Manufacturing Industry. The Vacuum Lifter was designed for safe lifting and maneuvering of both paper sacks and rubber bails directly into the mixer. The system was supplied complete with a supporting gantry providing a large working area for the equipment to operate in.
Feb 06	The quick pick and place VacuCobra is making its impression in the Food, Dairy and Pharmaceutical Industries. Recently supplied systems complete with support structures have been used for safely handling cartons, drums and packing reels. Stainless steel units have been supplied into the Dairy and Pharmaceutical industries to meet with their high hygiene requirements
Jan 06	Stearic Acid powder is temperature sensitive, becoming quite sticky even at high ambient temperatures. Supplying a system into Queensland required KBS to utilize a special coolroom and insulated system components. Material properties were thoroughly assessed early, during the tender process, and changes suggested at this stage avoided embarrassing handling problems later.
Jan 06	A Microveyor was sold to a building products manufacturing facility enabling theme to reclaim waste product from their bag house. The Microveyor conveyed the product from under the bag house up into a storage hopper from where it was metered back into process eliminating the need and costs associated with waste product disposal.
Jan 06	The Australian Cement Industry has recently been showing keen interest in the high performance Clyde Dome Valves. Recent sales have been to replace hard seat type valves in an effort to minimise maintenance & down time. The Tungsten Carbide coating offers excellent life against abrasive products, and is ideal for high pressure and temperature applications. The Dome Valve is commonly used in diverter, switch or discharge valves applications and gives Kockums Bulk Systems a high performance valve to offer with their Dense phase vessels.
