K20 Sack Compactors

The compactor is used as a hygienic system for disposal of paper sacks and cardboard. By compacting waste material, the volume for disposal is reduced. Furthermore, any residual product/dust in the empty sacks is contained within a plastic tube into which the waste is fed.

The waste products are fed into the compactor screw through a feed chute. The compactor screw feeds the waste out through the compactor funnel into a plastic tube. The plastic tube is supplied in a linear length on a roll. The operator feeds a long length of tube over the compactor nozzle, and then places a tube clamping 'O' ring on to the nozzle. The operator then ties a knot in the open end of the tube and the system is ready for operation.

As the screw forces the waste out through the funnel, the waste compacts against the tied off end of the plastic tube. Further waste then extrudes the plastic tube off the compactor funnel. When a manageable length of compacted tube is reached, the operator pulls a little more tube off the funnel, cuts and ties the dirty side and reties the section remaining on the funnel.

The compactors can be used as a stand alone unit, or when incorporated into a Kockums sack tipping unit (shown left) it provides the complete dust free emptying system for sacks.
